ELMSFORD, N.Y. -- The Elmsford Rotary Club held its annual dictionary donation to third-graders at the Grady Elementary School on Monday, Oct. 17.
Students at the school were provided with a total of 85 dictionaries, which were handed out during a special presentation.

The program aims to increase literacy and help students become curious thinkers – traits some critics say are becoming increasingly difficult to attain in a digital world.

Prior to giving out the dictionaries, Rotary Club President Syed Alirahi presented Grady Principal Douglas Doller with a special award in recognition of his efforts to ignite such curiosity in the school’s student body.

“Dictionary Day is always an exciting day for our leaders,” Doller said. “We really appreciate and value the relationship we have with the Elmsford Rotary and their commitment to promoting literacy in our schools.”
